We are proud to announce the Sixth International Conference of JTET (Journal of Teacher Education and Training) and UNESCO Network "Sustainable Development. Culture. Education" organized by the Division of Educational Administration, Supervision, Economics and Planning, Education Faculty, University of Anadolu.
The conference is hosted by nine universities: Daugavpils University (Latvia), Tallin University (Estonia), University of Vechta (Germany), University of Helsinki (Finland), Debrecen University (Hungary), Anadolu University (Turkey), Vilnius University (Lithuania), Rhodes University (South Africa) and York University (Canada). It is the Division of Educational Administration, Supervision, Economics and Planning, which deals with Educational Staff Training at the University of Anadolu.
The lands of Turkey are located at a point where Asia, Africa and Europe are closest to each other, and straddle the point where Europe and Asia meet. Because of its geographical location, the mainland of Anatolia has always found favor throughout history, and is the birthplace of many great civilizations. It has also been prominent as a centre of commerce because of its land connections to three continents and the sea surrounding it on three sides.Eskisehir is located in northerneast part of central Anatolia region of Turkey.
Anadolu University is one of the pre-eminent innovative universities in Turkey. It was founded as Eskisehir Acedemy of Economy and Commercial Sciences in 1958 and become Anadolu University in 1982. University houses 12 faculties, 3 of which are distance education, 7 schools, 4 vocational schools, 9 institutes (4 graduate schools, 5 institutes) and 28 research centers and units.The University is proud to have implemented one of the most successful distance education programs in the world, which is taken as a model by many institutions. The first task of this Conference is to become an international forum on the basis of collaboration for sustainable development of multi cultural studies, comperative education studies and collaborational education culture, and education and other related issues and topics. We also will afford the possibilities for every participant to exchange ideas, share research results, and introduce new research or development projects.
The deadline for preliminary registration and abstracts is January 25, 2008. Language of the conference will be English.
